I tried installing CHROME and works there, I tried installing the whole set of "privacy extensions" and it worked too.

on edge and firefox I'm getting the site changed to this url:

https://www.scrapebox.com/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi

I didnt modified EDGE on its browser settings

I modified firefox settings here:

https://www.privacytools.io/browsers/#webrtc

Before modifying the firefox settings I was not able to enter to the scrapebox website neither.

Chrome 76 displays "connect to network" error with self signed certs, no bypass

Today, I noticed that chrome 76.0.3809 is now displaying a very unhelpful error page that says "connect to network, the network you are using may require you to visit its login page" and shows a "Connect" button. The connect button opens a new tab to https://www.gstatic.com/generate_204, which is a blank page.

This error page is being displayed on network devices on the LAN with self-signed SSL certificates that show errors in browsers. Up until this point, I was able to bypass the warning page, and continue on to accessing the device.

However, now, I appear to be completely blocked out.

Any ideas on how to get around this? Thanks

This was the page that normally displayed previously, and I would just click the proceed link:

export specific bookmarks folders

I have 20 bookmarks folders in my booksmarks toolbar for Firefox.

I simply want to export 2 of these folders and give them to coworker.

This doesnt seem to be possible; i can only export all bookmarks in all bookmark folders.

Is bookmark management that bad for browsers in 2019?

If so, is there a plugin to fix this?  Ive just tried a few 'good' ones from ff extensions and they dont do this either.

Blocking malicious file downloads

It's been brought to my attention recently that my users are able to download potentially malicious file types (exe's, bats, zip's etc) without any intervention or warning from the browsers. They have access to Edge, IE, chrome and firefox and they're all guilty if it to different degrees.

I'm really stumped for the best way to deal with this over the whole network. GPO?

What Google Chrome Policy settings are you using on your Terminal Server?

I'm looking at Google Chrome on my Thinstuff Terminal Server and seeing all those chrome.exe processes. That got me thinking - what might I be able to do with a Chrome Policy to optimize Chrome for our environment?

What security settings are a good starting point? Are there any settings I could configure to boost performance?

So I'm wondering, are there any tips you might have? What are some settings that you recommend? Anything I should watch out for or avoid setting?

Or maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree? Is there a better way to optimize Chrome without poking around in these policies? Something else that might reduce the performance hit from Chrome?

I have done the old "hey users, if you aren't using chrome, please close it instead of leaving it open with 20 tabs up"

Do any of you have any tricks up your sleeve that I might be able...

Google Chrome Blacklisting a Whitelisted Extension

Dear Spiceworks world,

I have tried setting Chrome up through a GPO to automatically install Webroot Filtering Extension. I did this by setting the GPO in Computer and User Configuration under Policies - Administrative Templates - Google - Google Chrome - Extensions - Configure the List of Force Installed Extensions. The value is set to the Enabled button and in the value field is "kjeghcllfecehndceplomkocgfbklffd;https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/webroot-filtering-extensi/kjeghcllfecehndceplomkocgfbklffd" as per the documentation.

In the same directory I have also Whitelisted the application as the point of the Google Chrome Whitelist is to bypass any black list settings. The button is set to Enabled and the value field is "kjeghcllfecehndceplomkocgfbklffd" as per the documentation.

I currently have the blacklist setting set to...

I am working on a kiosk view for our office space and we are using a mini computer mounted behind a 42" tv. I need to display two webpages both side by side but in F11 mode. I am looking into virtual display manager but I can't seem to find any information that would confirm you can full screen on the two separate displays. Does anyone have any type of solution for me? Thank you.

Recover Chrome bookmarks from a formatted drive

HELP!! I need to recover Chrome bookmarks for a user from a formatted drive.

Long story short, a technician on my team was swapping out a HDD for an SSD on a laptop and upgrading the system to Windows 10. Instead of cloning the drive the tech started with installing Win 10 with the wipe option. He stopped the process at about 4% because it was taking too long.

We've tried using EaseUS Data Recovery. The specific users' profile folder is not showing up after the scan. A search for "bookmarks" files came up with several results. I tried copying the files individually to C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default with no success. Also tried uploading bookmark files to this site https://rongjiecomputer.github.io/chrome/bookmark-recovery/#windowsto recover but it errors.

Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated as the user...

Google Chrome on Windows Server 2016 RDS high CPU usage

Hi everybody!
Our customer runs a Windows Server 2016 (1607 - Build 14393.3056) RDS with Google Chrome Browser (Version 77.0.3865.75). The VM runs on a VMware ESXi, 6.5.0 cluster.
If the Chrome Browser is started, the task "Utility: Windows Utilities" starts after a few seconds, which causes approx. 8% CPU load per user (approx. 30 users). This leads to a very high CPU load of the server, which is very annoying for the users. The task can be terminated manually, which normalizes the CPU load again.
The behavior is not 100% reproducible. It has already happened that the task was not started after chrome updates or suddenly in the middle of the week.
I can't find any decent explanations and I don't know where this can be turned off or controlled via GPO.
Does anyone know more, can anyone help me?

Restrict IE access to one domain/website but not restrict other browsers

My Win10 domain joined computers have IE11, Edge, Firefox and Chrome browsers installed.  For functionality, I need to allow IE to access to our intranet only using its FQDN and nothing else, but I don't want to restrict other browsers.

Applying GPO settings to block all sites except one affects all browsers, so that is not a solution.  Unless I can explicitly override that policy for specific browsers?

Is there a way to do this? Has anyone achieved this successfully?  Thank you

Blocking website per user account

I need to set up a GPO that blocks a specific site based on what user account is logged in to a PC. For example, I need to block google.com for user Sally but I want user Sally_Admin to have access ONLY to google.com when she logs in. Both accounts would be logged in simultaneously and using the 'Switch User' function. Any ideas on how to do this?

Google Calendar Prints To PDF instead of Printer

Since 9/24/2019 when I print my Google Calendar Day View it will not give me the print destination option.  It prints to PDF automatically.  All other apps work fine.  I've tried in Firefox and it works fine.  I've cleared cache, cookies.  I do not have PDF extensions installed.  The Print PDF Document option is turned OFF, toggled to gray.  When I do open the PDF, THEN the Adobe Print box opens and I can print within the Adobe Application.  Weird.  What's causing this?

Chrome disconnecting / offline

Hello all.
I work with a school district and we have been seeing an issue with google chrome giving users a message of being offline, when then are working with sheets or google docs or even students submitting tests On Chrome books.

It is not effecting everyone nor happening all the time, but it’s at a point where some users are unable to work.

We have had zero luck correcting this issue not identifying the cause.

We have tried all that we can think of, clearing cache, plugins, reinstalling chrome browser.
Nothing helps.
We know that it’s happening on multiple versions and machines, we’ve even had a tech verify it happens on his laptop while at work but also at home...

This same tech also indicated his personal gmail accounts weren’t having issues, only the work account.

We are at a loss here what to do!

Our engineers have asked us...

Morning,

Wondering if you all can help me. We were using Google Chrome on the ipads but there newsfeed brought up "inappropiate" news sometimes. So we are now looking for a web browser that runs flash (like Chrome does) that does not have news feeds/ advertising or anything like that - just a plain web browser.

Has anyone got any suggestion?

Thanks

Deploying Firefox with extensions on a domain

Hi!

I have deployed Firefox to my domain a while back and it's working well. I'm thinking about adding a few add-ons to that deployment to improve the security stance. I'm thinking about adding uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger.  I tested NoScript but that makes it unusable for regular users and I can't hamper their access too much. Is anyone deploying those or other add-ons and what's your experience?
