Website Access Issues

Hi all,

Just wanted to get your thoughts on a strange issue i'm seeing at a client site.

If they browse to a betting website it will load seemingly okay, the user will attempt to put in the user details to log in but it will not accept them. If they then connect their laptop to their phones 4G for example it will accept the details that have been entered.

They have a Watchguard FW with no particular policy I can see that would be blocking this, and I can't see anything in the Bitdefender Cloud AV.

Seemingly all browsers effected also.

Any thoughts on this would be great!

Thanks!

Copy a picture from an email that is also clickable - doesn't work anymore

I get Dilbert cartoon each day in email.  Sometimes I want to save the picture.  I would right click on the email from outlook and the menu would include 'save'  and then it would ask a file location.

Sometimes, I would only get 'select / open / copy URL' and I would click elsewhere in the picture and get the choice to save image.

these days I don't get the save image option.  I have to click on the image, it opens on a web page THEN i can right click / save image.

Any idea why save image isn't available on the email's image any more?

Chrome Password Reveal

Have been tasked with hiding password manager in Chrome as well as the Reveal/suggestions of accounts when logging in to Amazon/Gmail/Ebay etc.

Bit of info on environment...

Users share passwords for sites as we have seller accounts, on various websites and they cover for each other from different machines.  The owner is adamant that she control all the passwords but realized that her secret passwords are visible in Chrome or in the login screen thanks to the reveal option and password manager.  She wants this done away with.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Chrome Unsafe Scripts

Im trying to figure out a manner in which to force Chrome to load a website which it deem unsafe with out having to click the security shield int he URL bar and allow the site to load every time.  Its an internal URL and we control that server so there is no possibility of it loading anything that could cause issues.

Any plugins or setting changes?

Too many redirects....but only for one user

Our users frequently log into a web portal throughout the day and one user reports they get "too many redirects" error and they have to clear their cookies multiple times during the day.

I understand "too many redirects" is generally a server side problem but we have six users that visit this site, they all have to use Chrome, Chrome settings are controlled by Group Policy, and I can't see any difference in her setting than anyone else.

What could be different about this one machine that would give this error?

Prevent Google Chrome from updating to 64-bit

Morning,

Up until recently (as far as I know), my pushed out version of Chrome has always been the 32-bit version and kept to auto-update for security purposes.  It has been noted recently that nearly all of our browsers are now on 64-bit which in turn has caused memory usage to rocket!

Why would Chrome 32-bit update automatically without authorization?  And is it possible to revert back to the 32-bit version and lock it down to that architecture?

Chrome force quitting on certain sites

Happy Friday,

I have some sort of little bug running around in a couple of my workstations. Whenever a user goes to a specific website using Chrome, the entire chrome browser force quits. One second it's running, the next second I am looking at a blank screen.

One specific site is indeed.com

I have tried resetting Chrome to factory defaults. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome. I have logged into the workstation as a different user to see if it had anything to do with user profile settings. No luck. It still dies.

Any ideas on what might be causing this and how to get rid of it?

OWA email attachments

I am using opera-stable_45.0.2552.888_amd64.deb on a
Linux Debian Jessie system to access my emails
from a Microsoft Exchange OWA Light system.

The Exchange OWA was very recently updated so may be #

using Exchange 2019.

I have a problem with attachments to emails.

When the attachment is a PDF file, this can be clicked on and opened.

When it's a JPEG file, it is just downloaded to the desktop and doesn't open.

However, using IE on a colleague's Windows laptop,
the JPEG attachments can be opened without being downloaded.

Does this mean OWA differentiates between different browsers when
treating JPEG attachments - allowing some browsers to open JPEGs
without downloading while other browsers can only download JPEGs ?

If so, which browsers can open JPEGs without downloading them ?

Thanks.

Chrome network/dfs issue

Has anyone ever come across the same thing that this guy has described in the following topic https://support.google.com/chrome/a/forum/AAAARjBu3mEtjHU3JkZxdg/?hl=en&gpf=%23!topic%2Fchrome-a...

We noticed with our roaming profile.pb files that Chrome uses, were constantly being written to and growing exponentially which was causing performance issues on our DFS server(s). We have disabled roaming profiles for the time being but I was wondering if it had something to do with lock files when the volume shadow copy service tries to create restore points for this file that is open? If it is, can I exclude anything with *.pb to not replicate? We have nightly backups anyway so as long as the profiles are backed up I don't really care about the 'previous versions' option not working in Windows.

Google Chrome Crashes when visiting certain URLs

I posted this to the Google Chrome help forums but no luck as of a day after posting. Anyone here have any suggestions for the following?

Hello everyone! When I try to go to certain websites, Chrome crashes. It is producing a crash report. It gives the error The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.

I've disabled AV to no avail. Exception code is 0xC0000005. It happens on multiple of our company computers. I've disabled extensions with no luck. I have no idea what is causing it. URLs include encrypt.me, google.com, gmail.com and amazon.com. I've even loaded them in other tabs, by searching for them in Google, then middle clicking, and it appears to load, but as soon as I click on the tab, it crashes. I've even had a BSOD I believe caused by this. Issue occurred on both...

Edge error - unable to create content process Error Code 0x8027025b

Anyone else seeing this one?

With clean installs of Win 10 1903, as soon as we join the domain, we are seeing this error with Edge.

We have experienced in on a machine that was already on the domain, and Edge had been working then stopped working. A tech used system restore on that one, so I could not see if there was a recent update that might have been the cause there. We have other systems on the domain that are 1903, and having no issues with Edge. So a bit baffled...

Other browsers continue to work on the system, as well as Windows Store. There is no 3rd party AV on the system, only Defender. Have already checked GPO's, ran RSoP, moved PC to testing OU with GPO exclusions, etc. Edge version:

Microsoft Edge 44.183.62.267.0
Microsoft Edgehtml 18.18362
We have also already attempted typical steps:
Verify IPv6 is enabled
Reset Edge
Remove...
